Based in the town of Mád in the Tokaj region of Hungary, the family also owns vineyards in Villány and Somló with a total of approximately 15 hectares. Production includes the famous Aszú wines from Tokaj, as well as dry Furmint and Hárslevelű. In Villány, in the far south, a light, fruit-forward red from the Kadarka grape is produced. The Zsirai family is experimenting with organic practices; all wines are spontaneously fermented using native yeasts and no herbicides are used. This is their debut in the North American market!"
This wine is made from 100% Furmint. Vinified in barrel with natural yeasts, the wine was aged for 8 months in 220 liter Hungarian oak barrels. Light and crisp, it has bracing acidity and refreshing flavours of stone fruit and fresh citrus zest.
