Champagne Vincent Renoir/Adrien Renoir is the newest Grower Champagne producer to Vine Arts. Located in the village of Verzy in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, the domaine has been managed by 4 generations of the Renoir family. Having claimed the mantle from his father Vincent in 2016, Adrien Renoir has 7 hectares of vineyards under his care. It took a while to convince his father of the benefits of organic farming, but the estate is now fully certified. Another notable shift was away from stainless steel and towards the use of oak barrels for fermentation and aging. Resultantly the wines have gained in their structural complexities and character. Combined with an added focus on prized lieu dits of old massale selection vines, this is one Grower to watch.

One of the final cuvees to carry the Vincent Renoir label, this impressive non-vintage champagne was exclusively made from Grand Cru Verzy fruit from 2017 and 2018. A 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the wine was finished with a judicious 6 g/l dosage. Bright acidity and creamy shortbread autolytics are balanced by crisp yellow orchard fruit flavors. Delicious today, it will reward an additional couple of years cellaring.
