The Tiraki Wine Sauvignon Blanc is here to remind you how great Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc can be. Meaning “clearing of the sky” in Māori, the B-Corp certified brand blends 150 years of heritage with modern concepts of sustainability. While most of us were still honing our breadmaking skills and awkwardly conducting gettogethers with friends via Zoom, in 2020 the Hammonds decided to launch this new venture. The family have been farming this part of Marlborough for 6 generations. Their vineyards are planted exclusively to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and of course, Sauvignon Blanc. Seeking the true varietal character of New Zealand’s flagship variety, they vinify this wine without oak influence. It bursts with tropical notes of passionfruit, lemon and grapefruit. A wine to pair with seafood and salads, it’s just the thing for patio season.
