The Tawse winery is located on the lower slopes of the Niagara Escarpment, in southern Ontario. Located in Canada’s premier cool climate wine region, the estate was created in 2005 by owner Moray Tawse. Inspired by the wines of Burgundy, Tawse hired Paul Pender and Rene Van Ede to head the winemaking team. The 80 hectares of vineyards, which are spread over 5 parcels, are farmed according to organic and biodynamic principles. Tawse was named Canadian winery of the year in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2016.

In the words of the winemaker - "The nose of the 2018 Quarry Riesling is a delightful expression of fresh green apple and honey suckle, with the quintessential yet delicate petrol character. The palate is ripe with flavours of mandarin and citrus zest, which are complemented by a creamy mouthfeel, a spark of minerality, and a crisp finish. This Riesling dances on the palate and encourages the second glass with ease."
