Tantalus Riesling

The 2024 vintage was one of the most challenging seasons, but it sparked a creative and collaborative approach. With crop losses at their home estate, they partnered with trusted growers in Ontario, working with Paul Franciosa at Grimsby Hillside and Mark Picone at his neighbouring vineyard, both planted to the same Weis 21B Riesling clone grown at Tantalus. Exploring how these distinct sites expressed themselves in the cellar became a real highlight. The wine is pale straw in colour, showing generous aromas of lemon, white peach, wildflowers, chalk, ginger, and persimmon, layered with notes of wet stone and pear skin. The palate is lush and juicy with clementine, ruby red grapefruit, candied lime peel, and crunchy pear, finishing long and dry with the chalky minerality that defines their flagship Riesling.
