Made by Hungarian-Canadian winemaker Robert Gilvesy, it’s a beautifully balanced, vibrant wine. Honestly, it’s one of the best Furmints we’ve tasted.
The grapes come from organically farmed vineyards near Lake Balaton, at the base of Szent György-hegy (St. George’s Hill). That volcanic landscape really shines through here. The wine was spontaneously fermented and aged in stainless steel, keeping it fresh, pure, and expressive. Think crisp green apple, pear, and lemon zest on the nose, with a lively, mineral-driven palate that just keeps going. It has great texture and energy, similar in spirit to a bright Loire Valley Chenin Blanc. For the price, this wine seriously overdelivers and makes a fantastic bottle to share with anyone eager to explore something new and unexpected.
