Managed by 4th generation winemaker Lionel Boutié and his wife Cathy, Domaine Ricardelle de Lautrec is a pioneer of sustainable viticulture in the Languedoc. For over 20 years the estate has been farmed according to organic and biodynamic principles. Situated in Coursan in the Aude, the 200 hectares of vineyards lie at the crossroads of the Clape, Minervois and Corbières terroirs. An interesting note is that some of these vineyards were once owned by the family of impressionist artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The Scène range of wines, with their painterly labels, pay homage to this historic connection.

A Pinot Noir rosé de saignée that was naturally fermented, the Scène 3 stands out for its freshness and fine balance. Pale pink in hue, aromas of strawberry, lemon zest and peach on the nose are matched by crisp acidity and dry minerality on the palate. There’s more to southern French rosé than just Côtes de Provence, as this wine skillfully demonstrates.
