RD Vinum Pinot Noir

Radford Dale was launched in 1998 by Alex Dale and Ben Radford with a clear goal; to make wines that reflect the diversity of South Africa’s Western Cape. How to achieve this? In their own words: “You don’t need smoke and mirrors to make great wine. You need good earth, good air, good weather, good fruit and good people.” For the Vinum Pinot Noir, Alex and Ben harvested fruit from three sites in Stellenbosch and Botriver, picking the grapes early to retain acidity and balance. Natural whole berry fermentation and aging in 228L and 300L French oak barrels led to a wine that’s medium ruby red in color, with aromas of just picked cherry, wild raspberry, mushroom, clove and forest floor. Elegant tannins on the light bodied palate balance the more fleshy character of the fruit
