Now this is a great looking wine bottle! Made in collaboration with contemporary artist Okuda San Migual, the Kolor once again shows that winemaker Raúl Pérez is a master of his craft. It was crafted from Mencía grapes harvested from multiple parcels of 50+ year old vines. Whole cluster fermented in large oak vats with two to five months skin maceration, it was aged 12 months in foudre, 225-liter barrels and cement tanks. Pérez is the uncontested champion of Mencía, and this wine highlights the grapes' concentrated floral and red fruit complexities. Exuberant with bounding notes of sour cherry, pomegranate, and violet, the moreish full-bodied palate has firm tannins and lean minerality. While the packaging may be great, it’s what inside the bottle that counts with this wine.
