It thrives in the hot Mediterranean climate of southern France and is also called Folle Blanche in the Loire. Most of France’s Picpoul—about 1,450 of 1,500 hectares—is grown in this appellation.
In the glass, it’s pale yellow with a green tint, showing fresh lemon and citrus blossom aromas. It’s light and crisp, with a hint of salinity, green apple notes, and sharp acidity that makes it perfect for cutting through rich dishes.
