Montes Sparkling Angel Brut

"This sparkling wine was a delight to discover at the Vancouver International Wine Festival, introduced by Aurelio Montes. The fruit is from Zapallar, a cool coastal site a few kilometres off the Pacific Ocean. The nose is a mix of fresh white flowers and red fruits with a hint of brioche. The texture is creamy and round with more of the same subtle red fruit, ending in a blaze of hazelnut and dried fruits. The Montes Brut is made in the traditional method and spends three years on its lees. Years ago, New World producers would kick off their wine dinners by serving Champagne to announce that they were all about quality.
