Launched in 2006, this winery has developed a loyal customer base for their world-class estate wines produced from classic Jura grape varieties. Not to be confined to the borders of Jura, the couple created a line of négociant wines under the label Coup de Jus. The grapes are sourced from the vineyards of friends from across France. When we first tried these wines we immediately discerned that while Coup de Jus represents many different regions, the consistent style of Domaine Des Marnes Blanches remains.
‘Bulle Ton Body’ is a natural sparkling wine made from equal parts Pinot Blanc and Auxerrois, which were harvested from Alsatian vineyards planted in 1978. Whole-cluster pressed into stainless steel tanks, the wine fermented until it hit 21 g/l of residual sugar. At this point the wine was chilled and then transferred to the bottle to finish fermenting. Voilà, bubbles!
