Managed by 9th generation winemakers, brothers Claude and Hervé Muzard, Domaine Lucien Muzard & Fils can trace its history all the way back to 1645. Situated in the village of Santenay, over the years the domaine has acquired an enviable assortment of holdings. In Santenay, where the brothers own the most vines, there are key plots of 1er Crus Maladière and Gravière, in addition to villages-level Champs Claude. Traditionally Santenay wines had a reputation for being rustic, but Muzard's Santenays are all about elegance and finesse. The 1er Crus Gravière was made from grapes harvested from vineyards planted in the early 1960’s. Vinified with 30% whole bunches and aged in 30% new French oak barrels, this Burgundy has some real depth. This is serious wine from a top level winery! In fact wine writer and Master of Wine Clive Coates deemed Domaine Lucien Muzard & Fils to be one of the “Top 10 Best Value Producers in Burgundy”.

“Brothers Claude and Hervé have been in charge for a decade or so, during which they have established this domaine as arguably the best in the village—against fierce competition.” - Clive Coates MW
