Established in 1746, the winery is today managed by Bertrand Lilbert, who tends 3.5 ha of vineyards in 3 prestigious Grand Cru villages - Cramant, Chouilly and Oiry. Each wine is painstakingly made by hand. Bottles are manually riddled and disgorged ‘a la volée’. The classic style of the domaine focuses on taut acidity, elegant fruit, and long aging potential. At only 30,000 bottles, production is very small.
“Lilbert makes classic Côte des Blancs champagnes of great purity, finesse and expression. The only problem with these wines is finding them, as the tiny production is eagerly snapped up upon release by a near-cult following of clientele around the world." - Peter Liem
This, the house’s rarest and most sought-after wine, is made from grapes sourced from old vines. Its dosage is now in the 3-4 grams per liter range, and it is bottled with a lower pressure than the non-vintage classic— 4 bars of pressure rather than the normal 6—making it particularly transparent, and almost smoky in its intense chalkiness.
