Kanonkop Estate is a proud, fourth-generation family winery that’s been passed down through the Krige family and is now run by brothers Paul and Johann. The estate’s first vintage was released back in 1973. The name Kanonkop comes from a small hill (kop) on the Simonsberg Mountain above the estate. In the 17th and 18th centuries, a cannon (kanon) was fired from that spot to signal the arrival of sailing ships entering Table Bay. Today, Kanonkop spans about 95 hectares of vineyards, with roughly half planted to South Africa’s signature grape, Pinotage.

"A full-bodied dry rosé, this wine is made by the traditional method of bleeding the juice off the Pinotage grapes after only the slightest skin contact, producing a classic onionskin colour. The floral bouquet leads to notes of cherry and red grapefruit, with a firm succulence and racy freshness on the palate. An ideal food wine." - Kanonkop
