Established in the village of Bouzy during the 1880's, Domaine Jean Vesselle is today managed by Delphine and David Vesselle. A "Grower" Champagne house, the domaine has key holdings on the famed Montagne de Reims. The jewel in the families crown is the tiny 0.1 hectare walled vineyard of 'Petit Clos'. One of the smallest single vineyards in Champagne, it is planted entirely to Pinot Noir. The grapes for this wine were hand harvested and fermented in French oak barrels. Aged sur lie for an incredible 12 years, it was given a subtle dosage of 4 g/l of residual sugar. The pinnacle wine of the domaine, it combines pure Bouzy strength with chalky minerality.

“Jean Vesselle’s 12-years-aged “Le Petit Clos” comes entirely from a walled vineyard that measures one-fifth of an acre in Grand Cru Bouzy. With only three barrels produced and less than one barrel’s worth in America, it’s one of the rarest collector items in Champagne.” - Ian Cauble, Master Sommelier
