At this time it was the only winery located on the famed Cannubi hill and the wines were sold exclusively in the family's small tavern. The winery is today ably led by 4th generation winemakers and sisters, Anna and Paola Borgogno, who are starting to pass the reins to their daughters Emanuela and Federica.
Made from 100% Dolcetto, this wine saw 6-8 days of skin maceration in wooden vats with frequent pump-overs. Both malolactic fermentation and aging took place in stainless steel tanks. Only 6000 bottles were made.
Electric ruby red in the glass, on the nose this wine shows classic Dolcetto aromas of lush blackberry, black cherry, pomegranate and violet. Medium bodied with fine tannins, on the palate ripe black-fruit flavors are complemented by tart bitterness. There’s a hint of cocoa on the moreish finish.
