Neemia, originally from New Zealand, fell in love with the French way of life after spending eight years playing professional rugby in the southwest of France. The long Sunday lunches, easy conversations, and bottles of wine left a lasting impression. It planted the idea that one day, he’d make his own wine.
As fate would have it, Neemia met Camille at a sports rehab centre in Toulouse. Camille comes from a family of grape growers, and in 2018 he invited Neemia to join the harvest. After a full day working in the vineyard with Camille’s family, the two took a photo next to a Citroën Deux Chevaux; a snapshot that sparked the idea to start making wine together. And just like that, Deux Chevaux was born.
Their Rosé, Leonce, is a beautiful blend of Caladoc, Carignan and Cinsault. She's fresh, she's floral and she sings with notes of tangy apricots, rose petals and a hint of English sweets. Made with a gentle press and cool fermentation, it's perfect for fans of Provençal Rosé looking for a little twist. Ideal with appetizers, grilled meats, or any slow, sunny evening.
