Clos Bellane la Petite Cotes du Rhone

Clos Bellane is a small and unique domaine situated high in the hills outside Valréas, in the northernmost section of the Southern Rhône. The organically managed vineyards have been owned since 2010 by famed winemaker Stephane Vedeau, whose goal it has been to make a fresher style of Côtes du Rhône Villages. The Petite Bellane is made from 100% Syrah harvested from vines planted to pebbley limestone soils. The grape were partially destemmed and fermented in concrete tanks using indigenous yeasts. Ageing was also in concrete. Medium bodied with inviting freshness, this wine has spicey notes of blackberry, olive, black pepper, and licorice.
