A historic estate, the oldest part of the structure is a 17th-century castellated tower which has a panoramic view of the Gironde. Now into the 6th generation of Hubert’s, the business is managed by Catherine, Jean-Luc, and their children Rachel and Guillaume. In addition to Château Pey-Bonhomme Les Tours, the Hubert family owns Château la Grolet in the nearby AOC of Côtes de Bourg.
Dark purple in the glass, the nose of this Bordeaux rouge has generous aromas of blackcurrant, savory red plum, and pencil shavings. On the full bodied palate, firm and grainy tannins are complemented by touches of earth and capsicum. Underlying notes of tobacco and herbs introduce some rusticity to an otherwise youthful red wine.
