Szamorodni means ‘the way it is,’ where whole bunches with a high proportion of botrytised grapes are harvested and fermented together until dry in oak barrels. There is also a veil of flor that develops, like the non-oxidative Sherry & Vin Jaune.
Aromas of honey, brown butter, dried quince, white pepper spice, and pleasant rancio notes on the nose. Fresh on the palate with dried orchard fruit, salted nuts and aromas & flavours change with each sip. Saline mineral on the lengthy finish. Very complex & intriguing.
