Chanzy envisioned Côte Chalonnaise wines that would rival the greatness of the Côte d’Or and invested heavily in vineyards there. In 2013, a group of Burgundy wine lovers purchased Chanzy and have since added a second holding in Côte Chalonnaise and Côte de Beaune for a total of 163 acres planted. With full control of production from vineyard to bottling, Chanzy’s impressive range spans 40 appellations in 8 villages of Côte Chalonnaise and Côte d’Or.
In the words of the winemaker - "Burgundy combines the ideal conditions for cultivation of pinot noir. In Burgundy, this grape reflects the tiniest variations of terroir on which it is planted, and thus expresses itself as nowhere else. On the nose in its first years, this pinot noir offers a diversity of aromas with a range of fresh red fruits such as blackcurrant or cherry. On the palate, it is rather round, with assertive but delicate tannins."
