The winery’s today under the helm of owner Marco Bacci, who owns the 510 hectare estate. 124 hectares of vineyards are planted to a mixture of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The flagship wine of Castello di Bossi, the Chianti Classico is made from 100% Sangiovese and was aged for 12-18 months in 225 L and 50 HL French oak barrels. As is typical for Chianti Classico’s from Castelnuovo Berardenga, this wine has notably broader shoulders. Dark garnet red in color, the nose holds deep aromas of black cherry, red plum, orange peel and camphor. The medium bodied palate has tannins which are firm yet approachable, and radiant red fruit flavors.
