Castell'in Villa La Gazzarina

Made from pure Sangiovese, “Gazzarina” is the house wine of Castell'in Villa. The style speaks to the fresh, food friendly wines that were once found in every country trattoria. Packaged in a clear bottle so the drinker can appreciate the wine’s vivid ruby red color and light depth, on the nose the “Gazzarina” presents vibrant fruit aromas of freshly pricked bing cherry, strawberry, and pomegranate. Additional aromas of oregano, tomato leaf, and basil lend some friendly herbaceousness. The palate is light-medium bodied with lithe tannins, moderate acidity, and lingering bitterness. Sweet and sour cherry and blood orange flavors linger on the refreshing finish. Best served with a slight chill, this is the perfect wine for pasta and pizza.
