Silvio Nardi is an upstart Umbrian who moved to Montalcino to make great Brunello, and of course, was shunned. Quickly earning a name for the elegance of his wines, he purchased the Casale del Bosco property in 1950. In 1990, his daughter Emilia took the reins of vineyard management, and the wines have evolved with even more finesse.
