*Pick up orders are available next day for pick upA delightful Calvados from family owned distillery Boulard. Found in Normandy, in Northern France, back in 1825 Pierre-August Boulard, after whom the distillery is named. Boulard is close to the Coquainvilliers commune of Calvados.
This Calvados is not only an XO bottling, but features the “Pays d’Auge” label, meaning it has been aged for between 6 and 15 years in French oak casks. When making their Calvados Boulard use 120 different types of apple sourced from 500 different orchards. Furthermore, one fifth of the apples used are grown onsite at Boulard.
The final result is a luscious, oaky Calvados, with touches of pot-pourri, spiced apple pie, crisp green apple skin, grape sweetness, some slightly apple-y acidity, vanilla, toasted nuts, black tea, buttery oak and woodspice.
