Bk Wines Pet Nat Chardonnay

Brendon and Kirstyn Keys established their Adelaide Hills winery in 2007 after learning from winemaking masters around the globe. With the idea of wine making as an artistic expression in mind, BK Wines focuses on making subtly nuanced wines from the best quality fruit, with a minimalistic approach in the cellar. Fruit is sourced from tiny vineyards that express the unique characteristic inherent to those particular plots of vines and where Brendon can have great control over how the grapes are grown. BK’s wines are the perfect alignment of minimal intervention & maximum quality; they are natural & balanced! 

"Pet Nat – or rustic, farmhouse sparkling wine created by producing a fermentation  in the bottle – is to sunshine as gumboots are to muddy puddles… you  don’t have to have either of them to enjoy the other but you’re a whole lot happier  if you do. The fruit in 2020 wasn’t plentiful but what there was of it sure was  beautiful. The growing season started cool and wet, shifted gears radically into  drought and two back-to-back early heat waves, and finished off long and  unseasonably mild. The fruit that made it through the madness is delicate, pretty  and well-balanced. Light, white pear flavours and enticing frizz. You’ll find yourself  praying for summer sunshine or just sitting under a warm, bright light with your glass and pretending it’s here." 

100% Basket Range Chardonnay. Whole-bunch pressed to concrete ‘egg’  fermenter. Fermented until nearly dry.
