The winery was founded in 2018 by Basque entrepreneur and txakoli producer Gorka Izagirre and Península Viticulores. The latter business partner is run by two Master’s of Wine, Andreas Kubach and Sam Harrop. The Burgundy inspired estate has 100 hectares of vineyards spread across 300 plots on the foothills of Sierra de Cantabria in the villages of Villabuena, Leza, Samaniego, Navaridas, Laguardia and Baños de Ebro. Averaging 50 years in age, the oldest vines were planted in the 1920’s.
