Own-rooted and planted in 1969, the vines speak to a bygone era of grape growing in California. The founders of Bedrock Wine Co, Morgan Twain-Peterson and Chris Cottrell, have embraced this legacy wholeheartedly. In fact, in the words of Robert Parker, “few people have done more to preserve and save heritage/ancient-vine vineyards than Peterson.” Morgan Twain-Peterson grew up working alongside his iconic winemaking father, Joel Peterson, and made his first wine at the tender age of five! The 2021 Bedrock Wine Co. Montecillo Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a testament to his “simple is best” winemaking philosophy. In total only 130 cases of this wine were made. "Just bottled six weeks ago, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Montecillo is a tremendous wine from this site. Waves of dark fruit, gravel, spice, tobacco and dried herbs are all dialed up because of tiny yields that year. Sumptuous and massive, the 2021 is an infant. I wouldn’t dream of touching a bottle for another decade, and ever that may not be enough to soften the huge, imposing tannins. I hope to have a chance to taste it again in the future. It’s a super-classic Sonoma Valley wine." - 96 points
