Exclusive to Vine Arts in Calgary, Château Beauchêne is a family-owned Vallée du Rhône estate with roots that go back to the French Revolution. In 1794 18-year-old tenant farmer Jacques Bernard purchased 0.8 hectares of land, building a foundation that would be followed by 11 generations of his family. Previously known as Domaine de la Serriere, in 1971 the family changed the name to Château Beauchêne when they acquired additional land near Orange. Today Château Beauchêne spans 70 hectares across four appellations, including in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. When Michel Bernard took the mantle of winemaker from his mother Odette, he decided to drastically cut production by focusing on estate wines. As a result today Château Beauchêne is counted amongst the finest wineries in the Vallée du Rhône. For us the wines of Château Beauchêne have all the classic charm and character we’re looking for, and all in a great price range.

"Explosively expressive, this cuvée comes from the Bernard family’s oldest vineyard, Grangeneuve, which straddles the Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Côtes du Rhône appellations. It’s gorgeous, with chewy red berry and cherry fruit, floral fragrance and a supple texture. Punchy alcohol but fresh and balanced." - 92 points, Decanter Magazine
