Rooted in seven generations of winemaking tradition, the Balaran family estate is a labor of love shaped by the vision and expertise of father-daughter duo Jean-Marc and Aurélie. Together, they produce expressive wines from two distinct corners of the Gaillac region in southwestern France: Domaine d'Escausses in Sainte-Croix and Château L’Enclos des Roses in Cahuzac-sur-Vère. Though Gaillac is one of France’s oldest winegrowing regions, it remains something of a hidden gem. Here, tradition meets individuality through rare native grape varieties like Prunelard, Duras, Braucol, Ondenc, Loin-de-l'œil, and Mauzac. To make the most of their 34 hectares of vineyards, Jean-Marc and Aurélie have embraced organic farming, letting nature take the lead.

This unique and fresh orange wine is made from Loin-de-l'œil.
