Armand Heitz represents a new generation of grape growers in Burgundy.
From a family that has owned vineyards in the region since 1857, he works with some of its
finest sites. While his family historically sold to Maison Drouhin, under Armand’s leadership
the domain has taken a new direction, even reacquiring vineyards previously sold. The
vineyards are cultivated using agroecology and permaculture, and minimal intervention in the cellar allows the wines to fully express their origin.

This wine highlights Armand Heitz’s skill in crafting ‘Burgundian’-style Pinot Noir outside the varieties traditional heartland. Although labeled as a Vin de France, the grapes come from vineyards in southern Languedoc. The fruit is harvested from sustainably farmed vines
planted on schist, marl, and limestone soils. Designed as a youthful expression of the
‘heartbreak grape,’ it was fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks.
