Winter 2024 Tastings: YYC

We are so excited to be announcing our first tastings for 2024! 

Join us starting in January for a slurry of tastings that will have us cracking into some seriously impressive bottles. Whether it's curiosity about splendorous wines, iconic spirits, or sublime beers, our team of experts will be sure to have you taken aback with wonder and awe as you sip and learn!

Intro to Belgium
@ Victoria Park - Jan 13 6pm-7:30pm

When we think of Belgium, the first things to come to mind are usually chocolate, waffles, the EU, and diamonds. To contrast with all that sweetness, Belgium's long history of brewing created Wits, Saisons, Lambics, Dubbels, and Trippels! Let's talk our way from Achel to Westmalle and drink the big, the small, and the surprising.

Price is Right - Wine Edition
@ 17th Ave - Jan 20 6pm-7:30pm

Have you ever wondered if price really does matter? Well buckle up baby because we're kicking off 2024 with a good old fashioned Price is Right tasting, where your knowledge will be put to the test. Taste three styles of wines at wildly different price points to learn if you really do have a taste for luxury.

What's Old is New Again

European winemakers, fed up with the heavy-handed methods of recent times, are uncovering that their future may actually lie in the past. Led by Vine Arts Wine Director Andrew Macleod, this tasting will feature wineries who’ve turned back the clock and shown what’s old is new again.

Wait, That Beer Is Brewed Where??
@ Victoria Park - Feb 3 6pm-7:30pm 

The brewing world is full of international talent and styles which come to a head in this tasting. You'll never guess what you're drinking or where it was brewed, and that's part of the game! Let's have some fun, try some beer, and learn about Old World styles made new again across the globe.

Price is Right - Spirits Edition
@ Victoria Park - Feb 10 6pm-7:30pm 

Do you think you can taste the difference between Kirkland vodka and Grey Goose? Have you paid for a premium spirit in your drink only to wonder if you could really tell the difference? Join us at Vine Arts Victoria Park for a night where we answer the question, "Is the Price Right?"

Wines for the Cellar that Don’t Break the Bank

Enjoying a well aged bottle is one of the greatest pleasures wine has to offer. Most believe that only expensive bottles are worth cellaring. We disagree. Join us to discover that you needn’t break the bank when choosing wines to age.

The New France
@ 17th Ave - March 9 6pm-7:30pm

Innovative winemakers are redefining the very spirit of French wine. The deepest systemic shift to hit the industry in over 100 years, entire wine regions are reinventing themselves. This tasting will feature wines from classic appellations and from appellations which are on the ascent. Vive la France!

Junk n' Juice: Treatsapalooza
@ 17th Ave - March 16 6pm-7:30pm

Join us for a night of true enjoyment as we explore off the beaten path wine and treat pairings that might just have you leaving with a new favourite. Be it your first time indulging in croissants and Champagne, or your hundredth time pairing Starbursts and Riesling, this tasting will help you celebrate all the treats that life has to offer.

Hops into Spring
@ Vic Park - March 23 6pm-7:30pm

Hops are an integral part of beer and it's flavouring, but what do they do other than make IPAs? Why are there so many different types of IPA? If you ever feel a little lost picking out your next favourite hoppy beer, come drink some hops and let's talk about flavours! WARNING: this will get juicy, hazy, and dank so be prepared for a hop-ping good time!

Club Med: Wines of the Mediterranean
@ 17th Ave - March 30 6pm-7:30pm

We've almost made it to Spring's warm embrace! Help kick off the season with a tasting centred around wines from where the weather never wanes and the sun almost always shines. Join us for wines from the exotic locales of Corsica, Sardinia, and coastlines all the way up and down the Med!

Each tasting will include a selection of tasty snacks. Due to the high demand and limited space for our tastings, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to another guest if you’re unable to join us, but we do not offer refunds for our tastings.
