We’re stoked to announce that one of our most highly anticipated drops of the year has landed!

Please give a warm welcome back to Gentle Folk at Vine Arts. Year after year, we look forward to these wines, not just because they’re delicious, thoughtfully crafted, and beloved by both our team and our clients, but because their arrival feels like a little nudge toward spring.

We’ve been the exclusive Alberta retailer for Gentle Folk for many years now, and they’re neighbours to our other Aussie exclusive, BK Wines. Based in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia, Gentle Folk is helmed by husband-and-wife winemaking duo Gareth and Rainbo Belton. Though still a small operation, they’ve earned global recognition, particularly for their single-vineyard Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays.

This year, we’re thrilled to offer two of their most delicious bottles: Rainbow Juice and Vin de Sofa.

Rainbow Juice

Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Sangiovese and Sauvignon Blanc

Spring in a bottle!  Rainbow Juice is a fresh, vibrant wine with aromas of rose petal, gooseberry, and underripe strawberry, like a summer fruit salad. The palate is filled with cranberry, rhubarb, and cassis leaf, with a light, smooth body and a crisp finish that lingers.

Vin de Sofa

Sangiovese, Syrah, Merlot

A perennial crowd favourite in its new vintage. Fermented and aged in a mix of large oak casks, terracotta amphora, stainless steel, and neutral puncheons, this is a beautifully versatile table wine. As cooler weather lingers and hearty dishes return to the table, this one’s going to be a go-to recommendation.

Before winemaking, Rainbo and Gareth were marine scientists specializing in marine plant life. Eventually, their love of the bon vivant lifestyle re-centred their world around food and wine. After spending time with producers they admired, they made just three barrels of their first vintage in 2013, and the dream was born.

Today, they farm eight hectares organically in the Adelaide Hills of Australia, incorporating biodynamic preparations and employing five people year-round. Their goal is simple: always leave the land better than they found it.
