For over 130 years, r. López de Heredia has stood as one of Spain’s most legendary wine estates. Nestled on the outskirts of Haro in Rioja, it has remained fiercely traditional: the family still owns every vineyard and runs the estate themselves, today under the careful guidance of María José, Mercedes, and Julio César.
In their vast, shadowy cellars (dimly lit to leave the resident spiders undisturbed), they follow winemaking methods unchanged since the 1800s: only natural yeasts, no filtration, and extended aging in barrels crafted on-site. Some wines spend eight years in barrel, then years more in bottle, emerging perfectly ready to drink yet layered with refined depth and complexity.
Rioja at its very best. These are some of our most beloved Spanish wines, and they never last long on our shelves. Stock up while you can!
Vina Tondonia 2012 Reserva
A dry vintage with 25% less rain than average produced lower yields of healthy grapes, perfect for long barrel aging. Aromatic and spicy, with forest floor, brick dust, and iodine notes. The palate is full, round, and polished with a long, dry finish. A textbook Tondonia.

+tax/depositVina Tondonia Bosconia Red 2014
Rustic, bold, and unapologetically powerful. Born from a very warm, dry year, it’s structured and concentrated. Notes of dark plums, baking spices, and a hint of singed leather give it a compelling, earthy character. Bosconia embraces strength and intensity, with fruit that holds its own against years of barrel aging.
