Popping into 2024!

December 30, 2023
Let's all say good bye to 2023 and cheers to 2024 and as the clock strikes midnight why not raise a glass of the good stuff? You worked hard all year, you deserve it!
Here are our favourite bottles to help you celebrate the days gone by and toast to those that are still to come.

Anthony Buchanan Petillant Natural $37.89 (+tax/deposit)

This 100% Moscato Pet-Nat is the perfect way to add brightness to long winter nights. Sourced from sustainably farmed vineyards in Naramata, the Moscato was foot trodden before pressing then allowed to settle for 24 hours before racking. After spending four months in bottle, the wine was riddled and disgorged. The resulting wine is frothy and delicate with notes of melon and honeysuckle. Floral, fruity, and endlessly refreshing, you really can't go wrong with a bottle... or two.

Gallina De Piel Keiva Cava Brut Nature $31.84 (+tax/deposit)

Gallina de Piel is the project of David Seijas and Guillem Sanz Obach. Their aim is to compose quality wines that excite their senses. Focusing on wines that make fantastic gastronomical pairings is natural to these two sommeliers. The Keiva Cava is made of Xarel-lo, Macabeo, and Parellada grown on organic soils. With notes of peach, blood orange, and blanched almond, this is equal parts accessible and intriguing.

Paltrinieri Lambrusco Solco Dell Emilia $24.81(+tax/deposit)

Paltrinieri is a fourth generation family run winery located in Emilia-Romagna. This wine is composed of 100% Salamino. It is a deep red wine that has a nose filled with scents of cherries and blackberries. The palate is fresh with soft bubbles which makes this wine a perfect pairing for charcuterie, pizza or sheer refreshment. If you are feeling bubbles with some serious flavour, this inky crimson sparkler is sure to fit the bill.

Bulles de Comptoir Champagne $79.17 (+tax/deposit)

Charles Dufour, a young grower and winemaker from Champagne, farms 6ha in the Côtes des Bars. With a long tradition of winemaking woven through his family’s history, Dufour made his own impact by converting to organic farming in 2013. This grower-winemaker has achieved regard in Champagne and around the globe, being compared to top houses and becoming a favourite of restaurateurs. Perfect for toasting and noshing alike, this Champagne is one to get your hands on.

Piper Heidsieck Rare 2008 $269.99 (+tax/deposit)

The 2008 vintage of Piper Rare is equal parts powerful and graceful. Packaged in the iconic filigreed bottle, Piper Rare is a (ahem) rare treat. With notes of toasted brioche and hazelnut cozied up to flavours of satsuma and blackcurrant, this Champagne is sure to wow you with its complex elegance. Drinking fantastically now, you could endeavour to hold onto this special bottle for another decade or more. Few bottles are as impressive both inside and out.
