We’re thrilled to share the latest releases from Domaine Mee Godard—Beaujolais rising star. Mee’s wines have been turning heads worldwide, earning rave reviews (including a nod from the acclaimed Jancis Robinson, who describes them as, “Vivid, intense, defiant, arresting, and uncompromisingly beautiful”. This is Beaujolais with a Burgundy twist—perfect for those who crave elegance, power, and bold character in their glass.
Mee describes her wines as, "... wines for keeping.” These wines are built to evolve. Her cuvées are classic vin de garde, ready to shine with time in the decanter or cellar, but if you're looking for an accessible entry into the world of Domaine Mee Godard, we’ve got two wines that won’t disappoint.
Beaujolais Villages $36.31 (+tax/deposit)
Don’t let the “villages” tag fool you; this is a total showstopper. Powerful, gravel-scented minerality from Morgon wrapped up in a fruit-forward, playful package that still holds the maturity of a much older wine. Low-yielding, old vines give this Gamay stunning depth, closer in style to a Burgundy Pinot Noir. On the nose: crushed raspberries, wild strawberries, pink peppercorns, and violets. On the palate: a gravel-forward minerality with fine, precise tannins.
2022 Metamorphoses Côte de Brouilly $43.19 (+tax/deposit)
Mee's Metamorphoses wines seek to discover the true character of distinct terroirs. For the 2022 vintage, she sourced grapes from organically farmed vines in Côte de Brouilly for a plush, succulent, darkly luminous crimson-cherry fruit with gentle tannins and ripe sweetness. Earthy, mushroomy, and brimming with notes of lichen and ancient rock dust. It’s a wine with a pulse and a connection to the land that’s pure Mee Godard.
Mee’s winemaking journey is as extraordinary as her wines. Born in South Korea and adopted by a French couple, her passion for the land comes from her biological parents’ farming roots. Though her adoptive family wasn’t in viticulture, they encouraged her interest in wine, and after studying at Oregon State and Montpellier, Mee honed her craft at Domaine des Comtes Lafon and Château Corton André in Burgundy.
In 2012, she fell in love with Beaujolais and took over vineyards in Morgon. A few years later, she added a plot in Moulin-à-Vent. Transitioning to organic farming in 2016, Mee now runs the show with a hand in every step of the process, crafting small-batch wines that showcase her commitment, precision, and deep connection to the terroir. Balanced, intricate, and full of soul—this is a wine that tells a story.
