We’re stoked to introduce our newest Vine Arts exclusive: Deux Chevaux: a project born of a deep appreciation for wine that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Neemia Tialata and Camille Blanc are the masterminds behind the bottles, and they produce laid-back, crushable wines from their gorgeous 15-hectare plot in the Languedoc.
We’re declaring these the wines of (the rest of) summer. They’re bright, they’re juicy, and they’re absolutely made for spur-of-the-moment backyard get-togethers. These won’t stick around for long, so grab ’em while you can!
Deux Chevaux was born from a chance encounter when Neemia, a New Zealander playing pro rugby in southern France and the Basque Country, met Camille, a Frenchman from a family of grape growers with a degree in wine law, at a sports rehab center. Bonding over more than shared injuries, they discovered a shared appreciation for French culture, especially those slow, joyful moments around the table.
For Neemia, it was Sunday lunch that sealed the deal: “...time seems to pause.” It’s in those simple, human moments, arguing, laughing, just being, that the idea of creating everyday wines at accessible prices took root. Not for glory, but for the story.
After helping with the 2018 harvest, they knew they'd found their path. A 15-hectare plot in the Languedoc sealed the deal, and they haven’t looked back since.
