Tantalus Vineyards captures the heart of the Okanagan. Perched on the eastern slopes of the valley with stunning views of Lake Okanagan, Tantalus is home to some of the oldest continuously producing vines in British Columbia, first planted in 1927. Since 2004, they’ve been making wines with intention, authenticity, and deep respect for the land.
Sydney arrived at one of the busiest times of harvest; bins upon bins of fruit were hauled to the crush pad to be sorted, processed, and tipped into tanks. In 3 days, the team processed about 30 tonnes of grapes! Sydney participated in tasting ferments, punch downs, pourovers, and lots of very necessary cleaning! She even foot treaded some juicy pinot noir!
She was struck by Tantalus’s commitment to sustainable, regenerative farming. Every decision felt intentional, from nurturing soil health and biodiversity to composting, planting cover crops, and conserving water. Beyond the vines, it was the people who stood out most: open, passionate, and deeply connected to the land they care for. For Sydney, it was a reminder that great wine always begins in the vineyard.

2024 Riesling
A flagship expression that defines Tantalus. The 2024 Riesling bursts with aromas of lemon, peach, wildflowers, and chalk. It’s juicy and textural, with notes of clementine, ruby red grapefruit, and candied lime peel, anchored by that classic Tantalus mineral backbone.

Named for proprietor Eric Savics’ daughter, the 2023 Maija Pinot Noir is elegant but powerful. Expect lifted aromatics of rose petal, violet, and thyme, followed by layers of wild herbs, pomegranate, and baking spice. Fine-grained tannins frame a looooooonnnng, graceful finish.
