This wine is truly singular in character; a South African Tinta Barocca made from grapes harvested from a single heritage vineyard that was planted in 1971. It stands as an ode to the grape growing and winemaking traditions of the Cape Winelands. Made by husband and wife duo Margaux Nel and Leon Coetzee, the wine was vinified in traditional kuipe (open-top stone lagars) and matured for 18 months in a combination of 500l and 225l oak barrels. What you discover in your glass is a luscious full-bodied wine with ample notes of blueberry, black plum, marionberry jam, cassis, and Christmas cake.

The “Dancing Skeleton” range from The Fledge & Co is made up of wines made from vines that no longer exist because of dying out or being pulled up. Never to be made again, this wine was a once-off. When it’s gone, it's gone.
