Fattoria Di Basciano Chianti Rufina

This flavourful and concentrated red wine punches well above its weight! Made from grapes harvested from vineyards that have been farmed by the Masi family for 3 generations, it exhibits all the hallmarks of classic Chianti Rufina. A blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino, it was aged for 12 months in 2nd and 3rd use French oak barrels. The nose exhibits a complex bouquet of sweet bing cherry, sundried tomato, ground espresso and dried oregano. On the palate moutfilling tannins are balanced by vivid acidity and a touch of vanilla spice. Broad shouldered enough to serve with a thick cut of Bistecca alla Fiorentina, this Chianti Rufina is sure to please.
