This wine is sourced from 30-50 year old vines near the village of Villafranca del Bierzo. This is a wild, full bodied red packed with blackberry, blueberry, raisin, smoked meat, dark earth and savoury spice. At this price you can enjoy this while crushing a bag of beef jerky but it also has the complexity and quality to stand up to a more sophisticated dish such as a lamb tagine or leg of lamb.
