Over the years wineries have been looking at alternatives to heavy glass bottles. These have included bag-in-a-box, tetra packs and now…cans! Yes indeed, we are offering 375 ml’s of light and fresh Pinot Noir from vineyards around Oregon in an aluminum can. These are perfect for travelling, camping, house parties, back yard bonfires, post hockey consumption and any other activity where packing a glass bottle and corkscrew around may just be too much of a hassle. Underwood has gained a reputation for producing solid, reliable Oregon wines at a very reasonable price.
They aren’t claiming that this will rival the great wines of Burgundy in terms of complexity and ageability - in their words this Pinot Noir “works hard for the working people”. The Wine Enthusiast Magazine says that “Underwood is fast becoming one of Oregon’s best values in Pinot Noir”. This is bright and fresh with notes of red fruit, violets, plum and spice. Shotgunning and crushing the can on your head afterwards is optional.
