Tesch Remigiusberg Riesling
Managed by microbiologist Dr. Martin Tesch, this historic winery has been operated by the same family since 1723. We’re talking about eleven generations of winemakers! The estate is based in southeastern Germany in the wine region of Nahe. A smaller territory that was originally cultivated by the Romans, Nahe was little known up until the 1990’s. Prior to 1971, the wines were sold simply as "Rhine wine". Altogether there are around 4000 hectares of vineyards, which are separated into 7 Grosslagen (wine districts). The Tesch wine estate is spread across 18 hectares and includes holdings in some of the region's top sites - Königsschild, Löhrerberg, Krone, Karthäuser, and St. Remigiusberg. These sites are rated as Grosses Gewachs, Germany’s equivalent for Grand Cru.
