Dubbed “one of the most thrilling names” in Santa Barbara Wine County’s wine scene by Master Sommelier Ian Cauble, Piro produces small amounts of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from prime vineyard sites in California. Trained under the watchful eyes of Jim Clendenen at Au Bon Climat and Bob Lindquist from Qupe, his wines exist in a goldilocks zone between old world elegance and new world concentration. The Points West Pinot Noir is the entrypoint to Piro’s wines. Crafted from fruit from Runway Vineyard and Presqu'ile Vineyard, only 150 cases of this wine were made. Here are the tasting notes from Marc Piro on the Points West Pinot Noir: "This wine is bright and fresh with aromas of fresh cut flowers, wild sage, and red berry fruits. The palate is full of strawberry flavors, rosewood and a bit of creamsicle. It has an understated nutmeg finish that ties this wine together."
