Maloof Wax on Wax Soif White
Maloof Wines is a husband-and-wife winery team based in Forest Grove, Oregon. Originally based in Philadelphia, Bee and Ross Maloof moved to Oregon in 2017. Previously employed as a sommelier, Ross was first introduced to winemaking in 2015 when he worked the harvest at Day Wines in Dundee. The following year he decided to come back with his then-fiancée Bee Selman, a materials engineer. Today the couple bottle a small amount of wines produced naturally.
"This site was planted by Herb Quady, Applegate Valley’s legendary organic farmer. At over 1400 feet above sea level, the juvenile vines sit in granitic soils. The wine is made from roughly equal parts Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, and Viognier. The grapes were direct pressed into neutral barrel for both fermentation and élevage. The wine is racked and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Only 95 cases were produced." - Erik Mercier, Juice Imports
