Laurent Miquel Albarino
"This is the wine that probably should never have happened. The story starts in Galicia, Spain, where Laurent happened to find himself on holidays. But true to form Laurent couldn’t sit still and one day went to explore the local vineyards and the grapes they used. That’s where he found the Albarino grape. Taken aback by its delicate and fresh nature, Laurent decided he would grow it in the Lanquedoc. The fact it hadn’t been done before didn’t seem to bother him. Nor the fact that everyone thought he was slightly mad. So the wine that shouldn’t have happened did, and everyone that has tasted it since is happy it did.
It’s unique, that’s for sure. An elegant cuvée that has hints of white peaches and a lovely touch of citrus. It’s one of those ones you just have to taste, and then you’ll realize why it’s hard to explain." - Laurent Miquel
