Description
Owned by the same family for 350 years, this Austrian winery has been managed by Johannes Zillinger since 2013. Johannes learnt his craft from his father, a pioneering grape grower who converted his vineyards to organic farming back in 1983. When Johannes became the winemaker he went a step further and moved to biodynamic farming practices, gaining Demeter certification. His estate, which spans 18 hectares, is located within the Niederösterreich wine region. Every year he produces a meager 8300 cases of wine.
The Revolution Pink Solera from Johannes Zillinger is a mix of 3 grape varieties: Rösler (50%), Syrah (40%) and St. Laurent (10%). The Rösler was fermented in stainless steel tanks and matured in barrels, the Syrah spent time in barrels and the St. Laurent was made with a unique solera system.
