Veronica Ortega holds an impressive track record. She has worked in areas such as Clos Erasmus, Álvaro Palacios, Domaine Comte Armand, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Domaine Combier and Raul Perez. In 2010, she moved to the Bierzo appellation in the region of Castilla y León, where she began producing her own wines. Initially, she vinified in the cellar of Raul Perez, to finally acquire her own facilities in 2014. Having learned organic and biodynamic cultivation of the vine, she naturally applies the same methods to her own vines (aged an average of 80 years) and harvests everything manually.

“It is a wine from two very old vineyard plots, located in Valtuille de Abajo. It is a serious Mencia, with a marked personality, very elegant and mineral, with a very precise plot on the palate. It combines floral, red fruit and liquorice notes on the nose and a long journey on the palate.”
