Description
Rudolf Trossen founded Demeter and EcoVin in Rheinland Pfalz and has been biodynamically farming since 1978. Located in the wine village of Kinheim-Kindel of the Middle-Mosel, the Trossen family estate is run by Rudolf and Rita Trossen. Pioneers of biodynamic viticulture in the Moselle, 42 years of farming this way shows through the vitality of the soil and the diverse ecosystem, which thrive in this nourished environment. Within their 18 fields, predominantly planted with Riesling and most of which are on steep slate slopes that the Moselle is famous for, every vine must be tended by hand. In fact there is very little machinery or technology used in any part of the process from the vineyard to the cellar.
Schieferblume means “Flower of the Slate” and is a blend from 4 different Riesling vineyards.
